
Volodymyr Zelensky presented to the European Parliament convened in an extraordinary session in Brussels Ukraine’s conditions for any potential peace negotiations with Russia. At the heart of these demands: legally binding security guarantees from Western allies, including an accelerated path to NATO membership.
These conditions are far from achieving consensus among the Twenty-Seven. Several member states have expressed reservations over Ukraine’s rapid accession to the Atlantic alliance, fearing an escalation with Moscow.
